Dental Care
The Dental Care Funding program supports underserved patients with preventive, restorative, and emergency treatments. The personal Dental Care Funding program provides financial assistance for individuals and organizations in need of basic dental treatments and general healthcare support that restores good oral health and general health. It ensures access to essential dental services, focusing on underserved communities.
What does it cover?
- Examinations, X-rays and cleanings
- Fillings
- Partial dentures and complete dentures
- Periodontal scaling and root planning in limited circumstances
- Extractions
- Limited Oral surgical procedures when medically necessary
- Conditionally, in very limited circumstances, may cover root canal procedures and crowns
- Emergency and affordable care for those in need
- Support for nonprofits offering direct care dental services
What is NOT covered?
- Implants
- Orthodontic Services
- Cosmetic procedures such as tooth whitening and veneers
- IV sedation or anesthesia procedures
Who is eligible?
- Low-income individuals needing dental care
- People facing financial hardship and requiring affordable treatments
- Nonprofits providing dental services in the U.S. and internationally to the underserved communities
Who can apply?
- Any person residing in the state of Connecticut
- People who do not have any dental insurance
- People who are on HUSKY but are NOT eligible to receive dental benefits through HUSKY
What is required?
- Resident in the state of Connecticut
- Must have a financial need
- Assessment by a dentist or if not available, we will fund an assessment at a dental practice of our choice
- Records and radiographs from current or immediate past dentist
- Most recent tax return
What will happen?
After receiving all of the required information, your case will be assigned to a CSDF Trustee (Board Certified) for evaluation. The case will be presented at the following Board of Trustees meeting to discuss your case and if and what procedures will be covered. You will be notified shortly after the meeting and instructed on how to proceed. It is important to note that application to the CSDF does not guarantee we will cover your dental needs or all of the care you have requested. We do not reimburse for services that have already been received and paid for before your application was submitted.
Disaster & Accident Relief
The Disaster & Accident Relief Funding program provides financial assistance to dental professionals facing financial hardship due to unexpected disasters, accidents, or medical conditions. It ensures support for those unable to meet basic living expenses.
Who is eligible?
- Dentists, their dependents, and former dependents of deceased dentists
- Those experiencing financial hardship due to:
- Accidents or natural disasters
- Medical conditions or disabilities
- Advanced age preventing employment
What does it cover?
- Financial aid for essential living expenses
- Assistance for those unable to work due to medical or physical conditions
- Support for dental professionals affected by disasters or accidents
